Cocktails were amazing and we were sat at a table right on top of the water.

Such a great atmosphere the owner came over for a chat and even let us feed the pelicans and fish!

"Do not come here if you are in a rush. Do not come here if you want cheap, fried, generic food. Do not come here if you want five-star shiny either. Because that is not what the Quarterdeck is about.

The Quarterdeck is about great food served in an amazing location with love. The decor is unique and so is the owner. The staff are fabulous.

Great fresh seafood and host! Very welcoming, service and staff great, we both chose the fresh grilled reef fish which was served on a lovely salad of greens, walnuts, cranberries etc. beer and cocktail were awesome.


Decor reminded us of a recent trip to Hawaii, five stars all round. Great way to spend a while and pelican feeding a bonus!"

"Four of us came in for sunset drinks and we were spoilt from the outset. Chris recommended the local whitebait and butter fish as a tasty morsel to accompany our Hawaiian beer, Greek beer and a couple of glasses of Australian wine. Super start to a beautiful couple of hours at this casual but friendly top class service establishment. ...Wish there were places like this in Queensland- nothing local there matches this!"

"From the moment we arrived, we were greeted by a warm and friendly gentleman who’s name we now know as Chris. Chris was wonderful; very passionate about his restaurant and real character (very funny) which made our experience at the restaurant even better.

You could not ask for a better location overlooking the water. It was so peaceful and relaxing. We started with fresh oysters which were caught locally and we delicious and tasty. For main my partner had the mussels and I had the seafood salad. Again both very fresh, tasty and exceptional quality with generous portion sizes.

Fabulous night!
My husband and I ordered the two specials of the evening; a chilli style whitebait and the garfish with pecorino salad. Yummy!


...Chris does provide some top bands and entertainers on his music nights.
We drank ourselves through a nice Tasmanian red, while the others at our table generally enjoyed the whites.

I finished up with a camomile tea while most of the others opted for coffee or more drinks, although a very tempting selection of desserts was on offer too.

We all said, " when can we do this again!" Soon.
